WGN Amerca to Replay Big Z's No Hitter
Ok, this is weirld. As many of you, I sen't an email to WGN America on Tuesday about them not replaying the no hitter. My program guide on Dish Network showed Wednesday that it would be replayed. On late Wednesday night, WGN America sent me an emai back saying:
Who fed you that that misinformation? As our website states, we’re carrying it Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern.
George
Did any of you all get this email back?

George sent me a similar e-mail...
Just a quick “As our website states, Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern.”

I also received an email that said:
“As our website states, Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern. Thanks for writing.”
The rather “snarky” first line you got was not included in my response from “George” (no last name.
For the record, I was the one who “fed” the information out because at the time that I posted it on BCB, the online schedule did NOT list the game replay on WGN America.
It WAS on WGN-TV9’s online schedule, but on on WGN-Am.
I called WGN America and got a rather frantic sounding woman who knew nothing about a replay of the game on WGN America. She stepped away from the phone for a few seconds than came back on the line and told me that “they” were in a meeting about that and that I should call back “in about an hour”.
To be fair, it often takes a day or so for Tribune Media Services to update online databases. They handle a LOT of station online schedules (not just WGN), so it may have been in the works at the time emails began to arrive in their inbox.
Anyway, the game’s available nationally, which is what we wanted- so mission accomplished.

should read: "but NOT on on WGN-Am."

Possible confusion...
but NOT on on WGN-Am."
This statement might confuse people. I live here in the Chicago area and WGN-AM means the radio station WGN – AM720 and actually, WGN Radio WIll also rebroadcast their broadcast of the no hitter on Friday night at 9PM central time.

Yes, WGN AMERICA (rather than WGN Am(short for america...)
and not a good abbreviation as it first appeared…

Poor George must be busy with BCBers this morning.
Got the same as you did. Replied in the same, too.

I got this from him
Brian:
As our website states, ESPN’s agreement with Major League Baseball prohibited us from carrying the game nationally last Sunday night but we will carry an encore Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern.
Thanks for writing.
