Jason yesterday, Rich today...
I wonder if this umpire crew has a particularly small and/or inconsistent strike zone.
(FWIW, IMO, this is the worst crew in MLB. The Tschida crew is the best. It figures that MLB would send its worst crew to work a series with huge playoff implications…)

How can any crew with CB Bucknor and Joe West on it even be considered passable?
Rapuano is the only good ump in the crew. Having a CC as bad as Joe West guarantees a bad crew.

DeRosa's value is linked to his versatility.
If he was just a RF, or just a 2B, he’d be less valuable to the team. He just needs to make that play. He’s done it a million times.

Wouldn't the first run have scored, anyway?
Sounded like there was no chance for a play at second – and there was only 1 out. Other runner was on 3rd.

How is that?
Situation was 1st and 3rd, 1 out. Both radio announcers said there was no play at 2nd base. How does the first run not score?

Situation was 1 out 1 on first.
Routine double play botched. both runners safe. both runners come around to score.
