Holy crap...

THE Bobby Howry gave up a hit?

That, ladies and gentleman, snaps a streak of 35-straight scoreless innings.

Let’s give him a round of applause!

DeRosa: And who is the best and who is the worst card player?

Dempster: I think the best is yourself. [ . . .] I think the worst player is D-Lee. I think he bets every time just to bet.

My one game at Wrigley this year (since 2000, actually)

Was on August 9, the last time that Z faced the Cardinals at Wrigley, same result.

What the Z is going on?

Do you think that Lou and TLR are one-upping each other at this point?

Looking at the lineups, it almost seems like they are saying “well, if you can play so and so, I can play so and so”, until you have the rest room attendant stepping into the on-deck circle.

Fun.

well, he did fine today

but then it would have been all about why Z didn’t start… I dunno. I gotta believe that Lou asked Z, and Z said he could do it.

Exactly.

Reporters look for the negative in anything.

It’s one game. Magic Numbers can only lower.

Chill.

Yeah, Carlos mentioned something about his leg being tired.

Off to Turner Field to watch the Braves try to play spoiler against the Mets.

alright.

I’m out, yo. Amazingly enough, I’m going to Six Flags tomorrow, so I don’t know how much of the game I’m going to catch. However, four hours there may be enough for three children under ten, which gets me back in time to catch most of it, I’m sure.

Oh well.

Lou pulled him before the big “below .300” milestone could be reached. Even before his 0-for-2 today his OPS+ dropped to 92. If he hadn’t frontloaded all of his offensive production into April of this year I think we have a different shortstop right now. Incredible, innit.
