Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Oh no... Geo hurt?

Jesse Rogers from The Score just reported that Geo Soto has left Wrigley and is having precautionary X-rays on his hand.  He will not play today.  Apparantly he hurt his hand yesterday and had some pain and swelling today.  Hopefully this is nothing serious.

I need more words so I'll just say that the playoffs are about 2 weeks away, so anything less than a major bone break should heal by then.  He has become the heart and soul of this team, and we NEED him.   There, that's enough.

I'm sure its just a precautionary move, give him a few days off to recover

Henry has filled in nicely all year

Rest

Rest him until next weekend. Then get him a few at bats so he is not totally unfresh before the playofs.

Blown out of proportion.

He’s fine. X-rays were pre-cautionary. Media blew up the story- it’s no big deal. Everybody relax…

He's not QUITE Steve Stone

..but then again nobody else is.

Bob Brenly likes to talk about the wear and tear catchers deal with as the year goes on, chief amongst the complaints is that the left hand tends to hurt and/or swell late in the season from repeatedly stopping fast moving object all day. Hopefully tomorrow can be the end of the pennant race and Blanco and Hill can let Geo rest for a week or so.

You wouldn't want him to rest a full week...

… that might hurt his hitting timing. 3-4 days, maybe.
