he goes and does this. Crap. Now he’ll probably steal a win.

Did you forget that September is part of the season too? Did you remember that nobody is going to give you anything? Do you remember that you need to score to win? Do you remember that leaving runners on base is aa MORTAL SIN?

it is not okay to “lose a few on Howry’s behalf”. There is no excuse for this jagoff to remain on this roster. Hello, roster spot waste. Ususally you overreact with 12 outs left, with the #1 scoring team in the majors, against the 4th team in your division, at home.
That’s how you suck at watching baseball.

But I am FED UP with Lou’s position on Howry. He cannot perform and cannot support in a mid reliever role.

Samardija who has pitched a ton lately; Gaudin who is out injured, Marmol and Wood obviously not realistic given deficit. Not everyone in the bullpen can be a stopper – I think we just all agree howry should not be in the mix

We have one hope
And I think it is realistic given the ‘qualifications’ of his first pick – McCain names Howry is replacement VP candidate.
And I LOVE how everyone is either a sunshine pumper or ledge jumper – no in-between. The sunshine pumpers wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if the jumpers weren’t here. Maybe the conversation would go as follows —
“Well Howry was a tad off tonight.”
“yes, but he gave it his all, let’s not be too hard on him.”
“what about all these double plays”
“makes the game go quicker at least (insert canned laughter)”

solid outing from Z though early departure leaving us concerned. Lou makes a horrid call and brings in the only man who can do what he does so elegantly. Bob Howry. Otherwise, the season is not over but hopefully Howry’s is.

Some food for thought as we breeze into post-season play....
1. Bob Howry…..belongs in garbage time, mop up roles only for the remainder of the season. Period. End of story. El Fin
2. Fukudome…..I like the guy, I really do, however, it doesn’t appear that he will make the necessary adjustments now that the league has adjusted to him. I hope I am wrong, but he may need to platoon and work on it in the post-season.
3. Edmonds…Really helped us in July and early August, but now he is really disappearing. Why isn’t Reed Johnson playing more? Hell, we are paying him more than Edmonds.
4. Soriano….really needs to stay healthy, as he seems to be the most consistent hitter we have. Sadly, he needs a taxi to navigate the outfield with any real certainty, but I have learned to live with it.
5. D-Lee….Good stabilizing leader in the clubhouse, but his power is gone. He has not learned what to do with the constant pitching away to him.
6. A-Ram….Stud after the 7th. Invisible before it. He is so streaky that I am worried that he may disappear in a important series (like Arizona last year).
7. Theriot…Just does what he can, which is acceptable. Not a great SS, but the guy has a knack for clutch. Just don’t overplay him and wear him out.
8. Fontenot….See Theriot
9. Soto…..is a god, NEXT…
10. Dero….Could arguably be the team MVP
11. Pitching in general: I am not too worried, nor excited.
12. Ward….needs to lose at bats to Micah. Yeah, I know that Ward is on the post season roster and The Hoff isn’t. I don’t care.
There, pick me apart and contribute your feelings. And I know that I am leaving some out. Thanks…..
NO MORE LOB’s please!

You know, I get that. You have a point.
However, Cedeno just makes too many boneheaded plays for me. Now that we don’t see him everyday, we quickly forget what we had before Theriot stepped up. Ryan gets on base, has timely hitting, his teammates love him, he seems to embody the winning spirit. If you look at him coldly as a scout, then maybe he doesn’t play. Damn, though, the guy wins.
