what good pitchers do you want to bring in?

Samardija who has pitched a ton lately; Gaudin who is out injured, Marmol and Wood obviously not realistic given deficit. Not everyone in the bullpen can be a stopper – I think we just all agree howry should not be in the mix

The Walk: Weapon of choice for the 2008 Cubs

by halfblindcubbiegirl on Sep 2, 2008 9:20 PM CDT reply actions

We have one hope

And I think it is realistic given the ‘qualifications’ of his first pick – McCain names Howry is replacement VP candidate.

And I LOVE how everyone is either a sunshine pumper or ledge jumper – no in-between. The sunshine pumpers wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if the jumpers weren’t here. Maybe the conversation would go as follows —

“Well Howry was a tad off tonight.”

“yes, but he gave it his all, let’s not be too hard on him.”

“what about all these double plays”

“makes the game go quicker at least (insert canned laughter)”

by BeltwayCubsFan on Sep 2, 2008 9:21 PM CDT reply actions

Here's a great way to look at the game...

solid outing from Z though early departure leaving us concerned. Lou makes a horrid call and brings in the only man who can do what he does so elegantly. Bob Howry. Otherwise, the season is not over but hopefully Howry’s is.
