the only thing that has dampered an otherwise perfect day was going to a the friendly confines bar near my house in orlando to celebrate with other cubs fans and having the game be blacked out by those damn fox magicians….thank god i have mlb audio at my house

This is great

But I’m not as excited this year as I was last year. And for only one reason.

Because our goals are a lot higher this year.

Again, this is a wonderful accomplishment. But let’s not shoot our wad, so to speak, about winning the division.

The Cubs have three more titles to win before we really can let loose. Let’s do it.

the final out on fox? He enjoyed his short stint as a Cub announcer. I’m sure he was excited to make the call. ( Disclaimer: I would have like to hear Len and Bob but that was not an option today…)

yes but they handle the clinch very well

they let us revel with the team without anybody talking over the moment and they let the moment last a good long time. I hate Fox but give them credit this one time. Also, that shot of Ron Santo just before the last out… priceless

The Sweep At Miller Was The Turning Point

IMO. Brewers were only one game back and the Cubs had been scuffling a bit but they went up north and blew ’em out 4 straight. Aside from an early September hiccup the Cubs have been rolling ever since.
