toast me
i’m near a drunken stuper crying like a baby here in oklahoma. go cubs go. cubtober is among us.
from the mouth of Uecker:
"Am I the only one who’s glad it’s only a 4-game series? If was a 9-game series, I think the Cubs would win them all."
i know
but for some reason, the media always has to do that.
Maybe they think people at bars are “real”
I doubt half of the people in that bar
Even realize what is going on.
Visit FanIQ.com for sports news, bloggings, polls, and more!
I don't have a problem with the bar thing
But why ask “What do the Cubs have to do to win the WS?” How do we know this guy has any baseball IQ at all? Not ripping him, just saying…
I am very grateful to whoever invented the VCR.
I have something to watch tonight — the replay of this game!!!!!!!

Off to see Neko Case.
One day I hope to come up with something worthy of this space.

This is great
But I’m not as excited this year as I was last year. And for only one reason.
Because our goals are a lot higher this year.
Again, this is a wonderful accomplishment. But let’s not shoot our wad, so to speak, about winning the division.
The Cubs have three more titles to win before we really can let loose. Let’s do it.

The Sweep At Miller Was The Turning Point
IMO. Brewers were only one game back and the Cubs had been scuffling a bit but they went up north and blew ’em out 4 straight. Aside from an early September hiccup the Cubs have been rolling ever since.
Never, but NEVER, put ketchup on a hot dog.
I would concur

My favorite of the year
Everybody thought this would be a showdown, and all the national folks pretty much thought the Brewers were going to take the series
And we blew them out of the water
Brewers?
Thank the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jesus Christ, if the Cubs beat them more thoroughly this season, I’m pretty sure the authorities would have had to been called for assault.
Brewers also beat them badly....
…and have 3 more. We can beat up on the Mets and help the Brewers…anybody in?
Let my ashes blow in a beautiful snow from the prevailing 30 mile an hour southwest wind...
When my last remains go flying over the left field wall, I'll bid the bleacher bums adieu,
And I will come to my final resting place, out on Waveland Avenue. --Steve Goodman
Watching celebration now.
Congratulations, fellow Cubs fans. We deserve to party tonight.
But remember, we still have 11 games to win.
Nice to win it ourselves at our ballpark and not to depend on anyone else. Let’s get our rotation in order now and play well in the postseason. The magic number now is +11.
Finally, congratulations to the players, manager, coaches, team personnel and especially to Jim Hendry for assembling a winning team.

The Astros are whining louder now, I guess.
They should look at Scott Kazmir. He’s about to clinch a playoff berth for the Rays in a few minutes while his parents’ home lies destroyed in Houston. But Kazmir is not whining. He’s playing to win.

People call Cubs fans bandwagon fans
I remember getting completely infatuated with this team in ’94, when I was 7 years old and they sucked so much ass. And I came onto this site in ’06. I think I posted much in that year than I ever had.
Shit, if anything— besides the always-apparent influx of Cubs “fans” that will come with their success— Cubs fans have seen mediocrity for decades, and have still stayed.
Look at the other brewcrew site; how many people are posting there? Suddenly the Brewers caps and shirts will fade on campus, as well as their hopes of making the postseason. And they call us “bandwagon” fans?
Have a good October and making Sabathia pitch himself to an injury, you pricks.

I must admit, I feel a bit for the Brewers
Their collapse is rivaling the Mets’ collapse last season. I figured the Crew was a lead-pipe cinch to win the WC.
It would have been nice to see someone different in the postseason … but they had all the advantages and squandered them.
