Way to go Cubbies. They earned this title, they played hard all year and to think, the best is yet to come!!

I am not sure

if I stand alone here. Although like all us Cub fans, I to am happy. But I realize that this is the first step, and there was no doubt in my mind the Cubs would take the division.

What I really like is with Pinella at the helm, he will convey this to his team. Enjoy this day, but afterward the sole focus will be on getting to the series.

I have always told my wife and family, I will never see the Cubs in the world series. Well I had changed my tune when the season started. And much like the way I felt about them winning the division is the way I now feel about them getting to and winning the WORLD SERIES, nothing less.

Untucked?

I just noticed their t-shirts are untucked. Tee-hee-hee.

Is it just me?

I’m dreading the playoffs. I still have wounds from ’84, ’89, ’98, ’03, and ’07.

I’m excited but at the same time nervous and have a certain amount of dread.

It has been a great season, full of great moments, even this week with Z’s no-hitter, 4-run come back in the 9th,.and the clinching game on the field yesterday.

I just hope my heart is broken again.

you mean, not broken, right?

I have scar tissue built up from those same years (well, not as much ’84, since I was 2), but this team feels different. They know how to win.

Last year’s squad, and I think DeRosa said this in his blog, they were relieved to get in after the hole they dug in the beginning of the year. And with the majority of last year’s team back, they’ll understand the pressure that comes with being the Cubs in the playoffs.

I’m excited – it seems like something is building here, and I’m ready for the ride.

There's something about this team...

Some kind of coherence. They seem more like a family. I think that sets them apart from previous teams. Will this help them in the playoffs, I don’t know. But I think it’s this family-like relationship that helps take the pressure off. We’ve seen it throughout the season. Pressure doesn’t seem to affect these guys.

Agreed.

This team has fine numbers and seems to win at will. But it just FEELS different this time.

Dreading?

No. Ready? Not really. But looking forward to it. This team is NOT beholden to the teams of the past.

Have faith.

Great photos...

I posted some of mine from the game at this FanShot if anyone is interested. It’s a public Facebook album.

I'm with you, Cub Fan Mike

I was at the game yesterday and as the Cubs celebrated I couldn’t help but think, “How much more disappointment can I take from one team?”

I don’t care how close the team is, I don’t care how much like a family they seem. The offense is sputtering with the shortstop and number two hitter in the lineup once again tanking at the end of the season The middle relief has sunken to ’03 levels. Chad Gaudin needs to be taken to Lourdes this week.

GREAT PHOTOs

I have little to add to what’s been said. This is a special moment and one I dearly hope will be followed by two other even greater moments.

I got a kick out of the photo of the team spraying the fans with champagne. No doubt that line of officials also got covered with the stuff… suspect it didn’t bother them in the least.

Go Cubs!

Those weren't "officials"...

… those were the ground crew.
