It was really funny (you'll all appreciate this)
The first day at my new job we did an icebreaker of two truths and a lie for one of my classes. And one of my truths was that I was a baseball buff. The guys in my class all thought that was the lie. I pointed to the Cubs gnome in the corner and was like, absolute baseball nut…so they decided to quiz me with the following:
“Who pitches the 7th for the Cubs”
ha ha ha. When I told them it varies, but I’m pretty happy if it’s Shark or Gaudin one of them said I was wrong and said it was Carlos, which I promptly corrected, and then mentioned I was pretty cool as long as it wasn’t Howry.
12 teenage boys jaws dropped and they were like immediately impressed. I literally won them over in like 10 minutes. It was hilarious and awesome.
Believe or Leave ~Cubswynn 9/9/2008

The way things went down last season, as someone who grew up with the Cream and Crimson under Bobby Knight, was pathetic. The whole Sampson Era was a debacle.
I’m on board with the things Crean is doing, and I think Painter is a heckuva coach, and with the two of them in the state, the games should be fun for the next decade or so.

Marshall looks "looser" on the mound tonight...
maybe knowing there’s no pressure on him is helping…or course…it could just be that he’s facing the Mets.

He also looks like a giant when up to bat
Totally dwarfed the catcher and ump, I know he’s tall but looked much taller than normal.

Why are the Mets playing a rookie named Nick Evans?
…aren’t they in a playoff race…

Pretty good first three innings. Its awesome that we have a guy like him to just plug into the rotation for a spot start when needed.
