Great article on Dempster...living in Wrigleyville and playing for the CUBS.

"Why would anyone want to play anywhere else?" he asks.

I saw this just now when I went outside to get the morning paper...

But the most important thing I thought is this statement: at the end about Dempster wanting to stay with the Cubs:

I’d love to stay here. It’s a top priority for me after the season," he said.

"I'm not much of a chemistry guy, you know. Chemistry to me is a pinch-hit double with the bases loaded"--Jim Frey, Chicago Tribune, 1985.

I caught that too.

I really like Ryan and I think he’s good for the Cubs. Great presence in the club house and great on the mound.

I too would love to see Dempster stay

Everyone should read this article

Hmm directions to Ted Lilly's house.

Maybe I could become a “flower stalker”. Just kidding but he is very cute and a damn good pitcher.

Really ?

Ted can “run me over” anytime. I love the idea hard contact.

I could see Dempster resigning for a three year, 40 million deal

that would be justification for this season

Wow, thanks so much.

What an incredible article about a great guy. He is my favorite Cub.

Give him the Lilly deal

It seems like he deserves at least a Lilly-sized deal, if they can land him for that. At 31, he ought to be good for three more years, and he has always done whatever the organization needed him to do.

Thanks for the great link!

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
