sure.
he’s struggling. But he’s not throwing a temper tantrum. He’s angry at himself. I do some of the same things (although perhaps with less crotch adjustment) when I screw up at work.
I guess I just don’t see the problem, other than the fact that his performance suffers. Let him howl at the moon, if he wants, so long as he gets the job done.

I don't think that the actions you're complaining about
cause the struggling. I think the struggling causes the actions you’re complaining about.

it's not "manning up".
he’s a man. Stop disrespecting him. He’s a major league ball player, he pitched a no hitter two weeks ago, and he’s having a bad patch. Jesus Christ. “man up”. How ridiculous.
He has personality quirks. Everyone does. Most people don’t get them broadcast to millions of people.

they're looking
for a way to sell papers. Last week, Lou wanted to pitch Marshall, but he didn’t want to deal with the uproar from pulling Z after his no-no. Z struggled, and so the uproar happened anyway.
The dude’s grandmother died a week ago. He’s struggling. But at least he’s trying to do his job, best he can.

I read all my sports pages online. The posters here aren’t trying to sell papers.
Again, that doesn’t mean that I’m right — but you do seem to have a minority opinion on this.

I'm willing to cut him some slack based on the death in the family
can’t be easy shuttling back and forth and trying to focus. I can understand losing focus easily and getting upset with oneself or an umpire.
That said, he needs to be sharp come Game 3 or whenever he starts. And I think he will be.
