so, can we all agree
that Cedeno is brain dead when it comes to fielding talent?
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
He's not the best SS the Cubs have ever had

I believe Johnson could have got to that ball
but Cedeno called him off it. If you are going to cal it (running away from the infield) CATCH IT!
You have to give way to the outfielder as he has the play to the plate on that.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
I'm with you on that

Also his baserunning is suspect
:-)

McGehee is not doing a very good job of convincing me that he is a ML hitter.
His glove has been good…
"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007
I saw him out here against the LV 51's
He was actually a pretty good hitter (at AAA mind you)
Sarcasm, just one of my many talents
McGehee was a below-average hitter in AAA.
I don’t see any reason that he should look any better in the majors.
Are you trying to tell me that my eyes are not deceiving me???

Why, then, did he get called up???? Was there no other Iowa Cub with a pulse?
"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007
I am astonished, though, that you think McGehee is worse than Neifi.
Would you rather have Jason batting than McGehee? Perhaps even put Jason at SS?
"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007
Neifi was a plus defensive shortstop.
That doesn’t excuse the total package, but it at least mitigates it. McGehee can’t even play short, and I don’t think he’s a better hitter.
Point taken.
I guess my standard for glove so good I don’t care about his bat is John McDonald.
"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007

I love to play baseball. I'm a baseball player. I've always been a baseball player. I'm still a baseball player. That's who I am. - Ryne Sandberg
Fox is Hoffpauir Light.
If you’re trying to find an all-stick, no-field guy and you end up with Casey McGehee, you’re doing it wrong. They probably wanted an extra infielder to give Ramirez a break.
I know. I'd rather have Fox up here to hit than McGehee up here to take up space
