Geovany Soto an admittedly big surprise to the Puerto Rican press.

Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día publishes an article today praising the work of Geovany Soto, probable Rookie of the Year in the NL. His performance and Carlos Delgado's were the bright spot among Puerto Ricans in the major leagues, according to the article's author, Carlos Rosa.

At last, Soto's hometown press are starting to notice him.

Misread this

I read this as saying “Geovany Soto admits big surprise to the Puerto Rican press.” Considering how much guy-liner he wears … well I had a brief vision of all the female BCBers in mourning.

I liked that comment about Geo having good communication with Z.

I hope he calms down Z during the playoffs.

He's been doing that since last year.

I’ve heard he has no hesitation in getting right into Z’s face and telling him what he needs to do.

Yeah...

He drinks all of Z’s coffee before Z can get to it!

Google Tranlation is hi-larious

Geovany Soto, without doubt, the surprise has been capitalized. Carlos Delgado was lifted from the ashes in the second part of the season, no luck ran over the veteran Jose Vidro and Iván Rodríguez.

Tomorrow is the last day of competition of the regular season of Major League Baseball.

And the actions of the receiver and the initial Delgado Soto as the notes contained more positive among the more than 40 Puerto Rican players who were active in this campaign for the Elderly.

On the contrary, the designated hitter Vidro and receiver Rodriguez appeared to register the notes most disappointing of the season.

“Geovanny was the best player among Puerto Ricans,” the listening of the Vigilantes of Texas, Frankie Thon. "It is the candidate for Rookie of the Year at the National, having started the Game of Stars (in the receiving plants). He had a great year, "he said.

Soto, the Chicago Cubs, surprised her with wood, mostly. His offensive numbers are extraordinary for a rookie receiver. Not including last night’s action, the Puerto Rican bateaba to .286 with 23 vuelacercas, 86 races and a towed ‘slugging’ of .505.

Witty .sig goes here.

I didn't translate the article initially because I didn't see anything new there.

However, if there’s interest, I might offer a summary in English. Just let me know in the comments.

By the way, there was another article about the Cubs today in the same newspaper but it was a translation of an AP story, so there is no need to post any link here. But it shows the growing interest in the Cubs now that they made the playoffs.
