LA Games Tickets

For all of us West Coast BCB'ers, I thought I would create a post for people looking for tickets or who have extra tickets for the games in Los Angeles. It's always more fun to sit together , rather than being interspersed throughout the stands. Plus, there is safety in numbers. :)

Remember the house rules... face value only for ticket sales.

Right now, there are single seats available through the MLB site. If past history is any indication, chances are they will release additional tickets as the week goes on. Getting them is just a matter of good timing.

Al, if this is inappropriate, my apologies.

Count me in

I am in the OC and definitely looking for a ticket or two for Saturday’s game.

This one's fine...

… since it’s not likely there’s going to be enormous demand from BCB’ers for tix in LA.

FWIW… yes, I am planning on being there. Hope to see some of the LA-area BCB’ers at Dodger Stadium.

I've got 2 for Saturday's game

that I won’t be able to use. Flight prices are just too pricey for my budget. Tix are in section 168LG. I think I paid somewhere between 100-110 for them.

by kanderber on Sep 29, 2008 7:37 AM CDT reply actions

Hint if you want to fly.

Try flying into Orange County airport instead of LAX.

Long Beach airport is actually closer, and also easy to get into/out of. Jet Blue flies there FWIW.

True.

I got a really nice fare on United into SNA. Just sayin’.

Yeah, I know.

Trouble is, I have had all my miles with United for years… and they fly everywhere from Chicago. If I’d had more time to plan, I probably would have gotten on Southwest.

I think that Burbank is the closest airport

If it is an option where you are coming in from.

I am coming from San Jose on Southwest, and it is definitely the way to go.

I assume that you paid that for the pair? Are they email tix? How can we do this?

not now

they are gone at this point. I thought that the Brewers were gonna blow it, so I bought Dodgers NLCS tix. So much for that idea—now I need to find tickets for this weekend.

by cedlandrum on Sep 29, 2008 9:29 AM CDT up reply actions

There were plenty of tix for game 4 as of Sunday morning.

By Sunday night they were gone. I suspect a TON of Cubs fans bought them as soon as the Mets lost.

There are, as is evident here and as most of you probably already know, thousands of Cubs fans in Southern California. I suspect we’ll have a large and loud contingent in LA this weekend.

I looked on the Dodgers site

right after the Mets lost and the site wouldn’t even load so hopefully it was Cubbie Blue loading up on tickets. Good job everyone.

Airport Info

The closest airport to Dodger Stadium (DS) is Burbank. It is northeast of DS, about 15 miles.

Ontario is approximately 40 miles east of DS, but it is a straight shot into LA on the 10 freeway.

LAX is southwest of DS, around 20 miles, but getting from LAX to DS can be a challenge at times.

Orange County/John Wayne is about 35 miles as the crow flies. But there is no easy route between the airport and Dodger Stadium.

Please check out my fan post

Entitled “Chavez Ravine Recommendations?”. I am flying in from San Jose, CA, and I could use some recommendations on how to enjoy the Dodgers experience. Never been there.

by vonde6 on Sep 30, 2008 11:27 AM CDT reply actions

The "Dodgers Experience" SUCKS

Living in south OC, about 50 miles from Dodger Stadium, it takes about 2 hours in brutal, gridlock traffic to get there. Parking is $15 and tailgating is forbidden; therefore, there is no spot for fans to gather. Most of all, I hate paying $8.50 for beers — That’s criminal! I hope you find it more enjoyable!

The only good thing here is these games (hopefully THIS GAME) will be on the weekend, so traffic should be A TAD lighter. It’s gonna suck going there with my two best friends, both of whom are passionate Dodger fans, but hey, they got me tickets, so what the hell?

I hear ya!

Traffic just plain old blows… I’m coming in from PS so traffic shouldnt be too bad, then again, who friggin’ knows! Giving myself three hours, but think it could be done in 2 1/2. Ready for a good time nonetheless
