AP's Bartman Story Appears
There was some discussion a week or so ago about the AP reporter who was working on a story about how the Cub community feels about Steve Bartman. Here it is, and it looks like our hopes were realized - it's pretty much 100% about how no one is holding a grudge against him!

Yawn.
I hope we never hear this name again.

Hope springs eternal
But personally, I’m wondering what the over/under will be on how many times TBS beats this dead horse throughout the series.

At least three times before the first pitch is thrown.

Glad that it's not about any grudges
Now, where’s my bat?

I always blamed the same guy...
…Moises Alou, who still to this day remains the only pro athlete I’ve seen yell at a fan during a game while he was on the field (hockey excluded naturally).
I was yelling at him to shut up and go back to his position while he was still yelling at the guy who’s name I won’t mention, and believe to this day he was the one who pulled the team out of their focus.
Besides the obvious - Go Irish.
Z. He doesn't need an exclamation point. He is one.

My only hope is that...
…this article marks the beginning of the end for any discussion of Bartman. Now that it appears most Cubs fans fall somewhere between being forgiving and being completely ambivalent, the media should realize that this is nonstory is just that – a nonstory.

It's tough for Alou
I understand that some might say that it was unprofessional to jump up and down and yell at Steve, and I agree. But put your selves in Moises’ shoes (or cleats). You have a chance to make a big, tough out in a crucial playoff game, and it’s taken away from you. He’s only human, I think anyone would act the way he did. As for taking the team out of the game, that’s for the manager to bring them back and cool them down.
Lets just forget about that crap and win the series this year!

I do like the idea
of him throwing a first pitch on of these days. I think I would do some drastic things if I was a cast-off to my favorite team.

He will throw out a first pitch the next season when we win a WS
Guaranteed. The will present him with the seat, the crowd will give a standing O and all will be forgotten.
Until then, there is no way the Cubs Organization asks him to come and there is no way he would want to come…right or wrong.
