Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

A little about me

Hello all, I'm new around here but I'm not new to being a Cubs Fan. I'm from Louisiana, I'm 31 years old and I have been a Cubs fan for 22 years thank to WGN. I have been to Chi-town three time. All three time have been this year and all for business. Sadly I haven't ever been to a Cubs game. The closest they get to me is Houston and it seem every time they come there I broke. I have always dreamed to go to my first Cubs game at Wrigley Field an I would bring my kids with me. I have dreamed that dream for 18 years. Its getting closer to coming true. My boys are 6 and 4. Only other Cubs fan can understand my Love for them. So I'm glade to be here. I got to see Wrigley for the first time 3 days before opening day this year. It killed me to not be able to go in. I almost jumped a Janitor who opened the side door when I was walking buy. It was unreal to see Wrigley Ville. A buddy of mine showed me around. One day I will get to see a game there. ONE DAY Only think I have left to say it "GO CUBS GOOO" Photobucket Me and my Buddy Photobucket This is the Sig I made for my post in my gaming clans forums. I get razzed all the time. Like all Cubs fans do. Photobucket

Welcome to the board....always good to have a new member!

You’ll find us to be a quite welcoming crowd, but try to ignore the sarcasm and juvenile humor some of these losers like to revel in.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Yup.

I was thinking of asking for a place in his cabinet, but I figured I’d go with something more my speed. I’ll be his Billy Carter.

I for got to mention one thing.......

I named my first born son Addison.

This name wasn’t even in the top one hundred kids names when I told my wife I wanted to name him that. That was a big selling point for me. I never thought she would go for it but the name grew on her and now Addison is 6. He Loves the picture above with me and my bud because in the back ground you can see the Addison street sign.

Now everyone is naming there girls Addison because of the doc on some TV show

By any chance?

Do you have an aunt Carrie? I have a good friend who’s nephew lives down there who has a son named Addison.

Ever See I-Cubs in Metairie?

Iowa plays eight games a year in Metairie. Is that too far a drive for you?

Welcome - Glad to have you aboard.

Living in LA and being a Cub fan for 22 years will give you an interesting perspective. What are your thoughts on Fontenot and Theriot?

I love them

I’m really thinking hard about getting a Fontenot Jersey he has the same # as another one of my favorite cubs Mark Grace. I’m so happy to have to LSU players playing almost every day

Greetings from another Louisiana native

Being more recently transplanted to Nashville, I am able to reach Wrigley now on a regular basis. You’ll find BCB as an invaluable source of the latest news and information on the team….lots of opinions too, but then everyone has one. Enjoy!

That sounds a bit ambitious to me. You had

better scale that back and shoot for something a bit less stressful.

Welcome!

Nice way of introducing yourself.

This has defintely been the year we’ve put the most faces to the screen names. Pretty cool.

Go ahead, Z me.

Welcome aboard!

I’m sure you’ll get inside Wrigley Field eventually. Just brace yourself when you do – that moment when you emerge from the dark underground concourse into the stands and catch your first glimpse of the bright green field and that broad ivy-covered wall is truly breathtaking. You’ll never forget it.

"I see the playoff schedule posted in the paper, and that stuff makes me nervous because you can't take anything for granted. We have a great team. We have a really good team. We're playing well, but we haven't won yet." - Jim Edmonds, 8/31/08

Buster Olney said a few days ago that the Braves would entertain offers for their 26 year old shortstop (who makes 450k) Yunel Escobar. He is a plus bat, a solid defender, and would move Theriot to his more appropriate position at second.

They are looking for a bat in return. Apparently Cox doesn't like the guy.

I couldn't even speculate what we'd have to send them in return, but I think he would be a good fit given his low salary, his productive bat, his position, and his age. I don't care if he's a jerk if he makes the team win more.

What would it take?
