any realistic chance for a rainout
and restart tomorrow in a double header?
i still don’t fully understand the rainout/suspension/postponement/cancelation/restart rules
the pink hat guy is my father
What would have to happen
1. Crew chief calls rain delay before 4.5 innings have been completed.
2. Rain doesn’t stop and crew chief calls the game.
suspensions, etc. only apply after 4.5 innings.

if it goes five, it's official
unless the home team leads after 4 1/2
Not looking good
Can’t keep hoping that Milwaukee keeps getting beat
Don't we do that regardless of how we're doing?
As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

yes
and that goes for the Cards too… unless of course they are playing the Brewers

Might be good for him...
He’ll be stronger in his next start. He obviously didn’t have anything tonight, and we have plenty of fresh meat in the bullpen. Why force it?

Oooh, Hoffpauir can run better than Theriot

Wonder if he’ll fine himself?
Why couldn’t he take the plane with everyone else?

Nice whiff, hacker.
Another blown chance.
"He can't hit, he can't field, he can't run—all he can do is beat you."
The rain is pretty much east of Cinci and nothing west
This game will go the distance, unfortunately!
Just tuned in
How disappointing to find this, just out of the gate.

I missed 3 games and they lost all of them. I thought maybe that was the problem. Appears it doesn’t matter if I am watching either with the results so far night.
"That guy is a gamer." said Ron Santo of Reed Johnson on 07-25-08
nope
this team is beat right now. If you’ve been there all season, you probably are as well. Let it go for the weekend and come back fresh. Nothing wrong with that.

I also shelled out a lot of money to go see a few games
We deserve a winner!!!
hahaha
I will be so dejected if the Cubs
don’t wint the Sept 19th game against the Cards. My bro and sis in law Cards fans are going with the hubby and I to that game. I will never live it down especially if it happens in our park. Mustnot think about that right now. Have to focus on the disaster at hand.
"That guy is a gamer." said Ron Santo of Reed Johnson on 07-25-08
meh, don't worry about it
the Cards have been overachievers all year and are currently worthless with nothing to get excited about for the future. Even if they do win, just point to the standings. And if they bring up other stuff, well, you don’t live in the past, so why should they, right? But if they somehow get hold of Matt Holliday, egads….
sorry for the ramble….
Oh, who am I kidding, I hope they win for you.

i’m closing in on ‘doing things that may be fun’ as well

3 grounders for our 3 hits so far.
Wait: is it Arroyo having good stuff or our hitting just not there?
He isn't overwhelming...

this team is a joke right now
i think its time for one of lou’s “im pissed” speeches to the medie where he just snaps and goes off on the team ..we need sumthin to get us out of this funk and we need it now!
Not sure the timing...
…is right for that. Lou may, but I’ll bet he just holds his tongue since they are in the stretch run. Tirades are best used earlier in the season.
I do think he may shake up the lineup though.

Had my parents over for dinner tonight
They don’t get CSN+ in Kenosha, and I have EI.
My mom thinks the Cubs always lose when they come here. . .she might be right. I may have to stop that. They left after the GS….

One last question
before I leave, does anyone know from experience with the Cubs or any other team whether this feels like a collapse of some sort?

Just a theory
Our tougher schedule may turn out to be a plus. Having to play crappola teams like the Reds, who have no pressure on them, while we’ in a funk leads to games like tonight’s.

That's it for me
I hope we have something to celebrate tomorrow.
