Cubs Club ticket presale opportunity
I just got an email from the cubs about the opportunity to buy some advance tickets if you join the "Cubs Club". Above is a link to the Cubs Club site.
Here is the email I got:
As someone who has signed up for the Cubs' season ticket holder waiting
list, we know how much you love the Cubs. And the best way for you to
guarantee Cubs tickets for this summer is to become a member of
the Cubs Club!
Join the Cubs Club now and in addition to all the great benefits you'll
enjoy, you'll also have the opportunity to purchase up to 12 tickets
(Marquee level) or 4 tickets (Ivy level) before they go on sale to the
general public.
Want more? We have more:
- Special Wrigley Entrance -- get your own members-only entrance when
you show your membership card
- Exclusive email and content: All members receive access to a
special members-only section featuring interactive cameras at Wrigley
and more
Here's the catch: Joining the Cubs Club costs $20. Ivy Level is $129. Marquee level is $249. Yipes!

Yeah, those "upper levels" are pricey.
I can’t see too many people signing up.

I think they should have named it Marquis level
and charged $9 million. You get to go to every 5th game, but only for 4-6 innings.

Wait, you pay $249 for the Marquee level....
and you only get a 30-day trial of MLB.TV?? What a ripoff.

Exactly.
For that price you should get MLB.TV for the entire year.
I wonder how many of these they have sold.

I'm guessing that...
they consider the “Non-game on-field event during 2009 for all marquee members” to be the most valuable perk of paying the $250 fee.
Unless the “non-game on-field event” is me, and 17 of my closest friends, getting to play a 9-inning pickup game on the field, then I think management has grossly overestimated the value of this.
