Interesting.
But no.

Chelios isn't that old.
Almost, but not quite.

So far, good guesses, but no.

Like you told me, Al, this would be easy because of the cap ('57)

I have pictures of almost all of the players listed above

Love that style of hat
Wonder if his other job was driving a “choo choo train”.

Anybody know why the short career?
This guy’s hitting stats make him look like another John Paciorek. Does anybody know why he had such a short career?

.412 lifetime ba in very limited service
the guy had a .467 going 7for 15 in 6 games in 1957. The next year he was 0 for 2 in 2 ab.

He wasn't a "scrub"...
… look at his age when he had those AB — 21 and 22. Why the Cubs wouldn’t have given a kid like this a shot, I have no idea. They couldn’t have done any worse playing rookies like this than with the failed veterans they had.
The late 50s Cubs rosters are littered with kids like this who never got much of a chance to play.

Because
they were the late-50s Cubs. Phil Wrigley hired people whom he liked (yet he had no friends). You know the insanity of the Cubs from about 1947 to 1965.

True.
“Bizarre” doesn’t begin to describe it.

his nickname is "Moose", there's a shock!
and he is still kicking around (born in ‘35). Let’s hope he sees he made it on to BCB today!!
