"New" Old Style coming to you, with more flavor
Old Style is new again! Pabst will be returning Old Style to it's original formula which includes being fully kraeusened. I know many of us have cliamed to be fully kraeusened a few times! I would imagine thos replaces the other swill and the new Old Style would once again be sold at the Friendly Confines again next year.

maybe...
… they can follow this improved flavor with improved radio commercials. The meathead “Jake the Chicago guy” spots suck.

Don't count on it.
Old Style’s commercials have been putrid for years. “The beer! The ball! The beer! The ball!” Horrendous.

Why?
Hearing about a bunch of idiots playing bags outdoors in the winter doesn’t make you want to buy a 12 pack of Old Style?
With that being said, one of my favorite Cubs ads was produced by Old Style. it was actually a print ad that showed a picture of the bleachers and said “Believe or Leave.”

well to be honest...
… the crappy taste of their beer really is the major factor. Several years ago when they had their “what would you do for a Cubs World Series winner” (or whatever) campaign, I was going to write in and say that I’d drink a case of Old Style.
I’m not a beer snob by any means but I’d much rather pay the extra buck or two for a Leinies or a Dundee’s Honey Brown

I personaly am excited
Old Style used to be a tasty beverage (at least my dad said it was decent). I only drink the Old Style now for nostalgia purposes in the bleachers and at pre-game warm-ups ;-)

Old Style, the best damned dandelein killer you can buy !!
But it is a great Chicago and Wisconsin beer tradition. I agree they need to lose the Jake commercials. Go back to the old school commercials they used to have. They were great.

old style should only be drank at wrigley, when the cubs are playing the cards. otherwise, it’s a bud heavy for me while i’m in at the game.
granted, gotta love the “old style here!” calls from the vendors.

I hate the Cub affiliation with Anheuser-Busch
Always have. Oh how it would be great if we could switch to Miller Brewing Company and have at our disposal Leinenkugels and Miller High Life at the park. Budweiser is headache inducing beer. Bud Light sucks on multiple levels.

Bud Light is delicious.
And ALL of Blue Mike’s comments are reasonable. Fight reason with reason.

Bud Light
is an insult to beer drinkers all over the world. Give me a large Old Style at Wrigley (new recipe or old) and all is right with the world.

it figures Blue Mike drinks Miller Light. perfect.

i’ve no problems with the affifilation of inbevAB and the cubs. I just can’t support st louis when the cardinals are in town. now i can’t stand miller lite, and would much rather have bud products at the game than miller.
it does make going to brewers games harder, as it’s only miller products there, how does one not support the brewers?!

Very True
I always remind Cardinals fans that when we flush at Wrigley it ends up in a Budweiser after it passes by Peoria.
Now that Budweiser is foreign owned that will sting even more.

Grrr...
The “new” Old Style will be in stores and taverns by February. It will be more expensive to brew and will be sold at higher prices, similar to prices for Budweiser and Miller Lite, Hill said.
So I’ll be sticking with my PBR & High Life when I want a cheap beer, thanks.

There really isnt a "cheao" beer anymore...
High Life was cheap but even that is now about the same price as Lite, granted you can get them in 30 packs. To really go cheap you need to go with the Natural Lite or Milwaukee’s Best.

I've become a beer snob
I guess that comes with age and better earning power. While not a big beer drinker to begin with I restrict my intake to microbrews. About the only mass-produced beer I’ll drink is Leinenkugel (which these days is made in Milwaukee in the same vats as the Miller products) or Becks.
Latest fave? Capitol City Brewery out of Madison. Exceptional !! You can find some of their beers at Armanetti’s or Binnys.

Capital is good
especially since I love Door County.

i stongly encourage you to go shipwrecked in Egg harbor. I went there on my way up to rock island and loved it.

I like Leinies and High Life.
Have to admit, I also like the real crap like Old Style, Strohs, Hamm’s and Schlitz. Hamm’s & Schlitz is 2.99 a 6 at Sam’s Wines.

Capital Amber is delicious.
Speaking of Wisconsin beer (something I know a fair amount about…), New Glarus’ Spotted Cow is always popular. Highly recommended.
Ron Santo should sing TMOTTBG everyday. Period.

the bowling alley
that i go to has schlitz on tap. it’s hard not to order it, just for the sheer ridiculousness of ordering schiltz.

Why bother?
If a food product has a broadcast commercial based ad campaign, it isn’t high quality.
I won’t drink a beer that has a TV and/or radio spot. I’m not above having a Guiness or sometimes a Heineken, but by and large, they are awful. I’d rather spend an extra $2.00 and get something that doesn’t taste like I’m licking the floors of frat houses.
If you want a good beer, spend the extra cash. If you’re going to drink cheap, go all out, why settle for crap like this when there’s crap even cheaper? It makes little sense to grab a Bud Lite as opposed to a Keystone IMO.

wring out the carpet in the fraternity house.

Ahh I get it. Because fraternity members drink cheap beer.
And it spills onto the carpet. Ahh. Haha. That’s a good one.
