Paul Sullivan (Tribune) noted in his story today how

Felix Pie, Ronny Cedeno and Rich HIll, who are all out of options, will not be attending the convention. Felix Pie was there last year signing autographs. Sullivan anticpates all of them on some other teams roster come opening day.

I really hope. . .

Hendry can spin some gold out of those 3. . .

Paul Sullivan with breaking news yet again !!!

Gee, who could have guessed that Rich Hill, Ronny Cedeno and Felix Pie are on the market? What would we do without the wondrous beat reporters of the Chicago Tribune sports page. It is reporters like Paul Sullivan that are putting the Tribune out of business.

by BLou on Jan 15, 2009 2:33 PM CST up reply actions

um ok...

… do you expect Paul Sullivan to not report it? It may not be breaking news but its worth noting… and you also have to realize that 98% of Cub fans are not nearly as attuned to Cubs news than people who post and read here regularly.

So maybe you should take it down a notch.

by dmlichte on Jan 15, 2009 3:09 PM CST up reply actions

wow

he’s a reporter. He’s not reporting them being on the market directly, he’s reporting they won’t be at the convention.

Take a look at all these trees — wait! This is a forest???

not to defend Paul Sullivan

but if you think a reporter missing some scoops is why the Tribune is going out of business, you clearly don’t understand the media landscape these days.

rADIO

my coworker heard on the radio Lee has a family wedding this weekend. Sutcliffe only comes every other year or so. Dawson has been hit and miss as well.

Barbara V. October 14, 1941 - December 19, 2008. A great lady who was a friend to all and like a second mom to her children's friends (she was my best friend's mom)

Sutcliffe is still recovering from colon cancer

so that might be why he isn’t coming this year.

Hey, it's a new century!

If there isn't a photo

of Al having his picture taken with Milton Bradley, I’m going to be disappointed. :-)

Is he

so horrible that having a picture taken with him gets that kind of response?

Couple others didn't, apparently, or just wanted to be snarky.

No snarkiness intended.

You’ve definitely come across as having a strong personal distaste for the man. It didn’t seem like that much of a leap that your comment wasn’t at least partially earnest.

by Wreckard on Jan 16, 2009 1:50 PM CST up reply actions

It's not personal distaste.

It’s a matter of I didn’t think he’d be the best addition to the team. I hope he proves me wrong, and I’d be happy to shake his hand at the convention and wish him good luck if I see him.
