Cubs game on MLB network right now

there's a cubs game on right now on mlb network from 1991, stoney and brenamen are calling, we're playing the pirates sandberg on third and we're tied two two dawsons up, check it out. Cubs took the lead before I could post, Dawson got a single. MLB network is pretty sweet, hopefully they'll show a few other Cubs games as well. I don't want to look up the score I want to know if we make it.

I believe this is the same game they had on last weekend.

If you haven’t seen it before, don’t watch the end. That’s the same approach I take when watching movies like “The Titanic”.

Hey, it's a new century!

I have a better idea.

If you’re watching, turn it off after the top of the 11th and pretend there was a huge thunderstorm just then.

You’ll feel better that way.

If you watch the last of the 11th you'll know why.

Should’ve heeded this advice.

That game was so brutal.

I had nitemares as a kid, and then watched it last week and had the nitemares all over again

I had to look it up

to see what you were talking about. If im still in the office I think I may heed your advice when it gets to the middle of the 11th.

btw: SEVERAL guys around my office are watching and discussing this game. its actaully quite amusing

Keep in mind that was an April game...

… and the weather was horrible, cold and rainy.

Before 1991

The Cubs traded him to Philadelphia for Chuck McElroy and Bob Scanlan. That Cubs bullpen in 1991 was abysmal.

Pirates Decline

The Pirates haven’t won as many as 75 games in a season since 1999. They haven’t had a winning season since 1992. That 1991 team could very have been the best team the Bucs have had since 1979. 1991 was the last year Bonilla was with the Pirates.

Watched the whole thing last week

I watched the whole thing last wee, sure it was a dissapointing game and it still made me cringe a little to watch it 18 years later lol

I still am at a loss for how bad Dave Smith was AS a Cub…against the Cubs for all those years he was lights out. I guess he was drinking at that time? RIP Dave
