Juan Uribe signs deal with Giants
I am happy about this. I did not want to see Uribe in cubbie blue with his weird blond chin beard.
I wonder if this opens the door to Rich Aurilia. I think Aurilia would be a nice fit, a poor man's Derosa and everything I read said Aurilia was heading back to SF. With Uribe heading to the Bay Area, this might mean Aurilia to the Cubs. It also sounds like Bako will be signed soon.

It may open the door to Alex Cintron.

Aw man...
…and here I’ve been defending Uribe up and down several threads. Ah, well. Yeah, maybe Cintron or Aurilla.

Interestingly enough, that's not much different from his name spelled forward.

Rich Palindrome,
as bad at 1b as at 3b?

There sure isn't much out there
in the FA pool. Too bad Daimon Easley is so ancient.

Not sure I'd trust Easley at 3rd either
Considering they need someone to backup Ramirez, Aurilla seems like the best choice.

Isnt Aaron Miles a poor mans DeRosa?
Do we really need two?

Miles is essentially a second baseman...
…he could probably make do at shortstop, but I really question whether he has the arm for third base.

incorrect
La Russa played him often at SS and his RF and ZR was far better than Theriot.

Saying someone is "far better than Theriot"...
…doesn’t necessarily make me wrong.

Good
Uribe sucks anyhow. He’s better suited for the bench. The only reason he started for the sox was because they didn’t have anyone better to replace him.
Someday we'll go all the way.

Um, that's where we wanted him...
…ON THE BENCH. And he sucks at hitting, not defense – and that’s why we wanted him. FOR DEFENSE.
Ah, well, it’s all a mutt point now.
