He doesn't want "interminable delays".
So he’d rather have the stupid arguments every time a controversial play happens, with the resulting ejections?
What a moran.

The Mauer "Foul Ball"
How long would it have taken to determine that was really a fair ball and award Mauer a ground-rule double? I dare say less than 60 seconds. In addition to being a “moran”, Bud can be a “maroon”, too.

It wouldn't have taken any longer...
… than most HR reviews — maybe 2-3 minutes.
If they want to institute a system where they have a “replay umpire” in the pressbox who can do this, even faster. That umpire could also become the official scorer, taking that job away from sportswriters, who shouldn’t have it in the first place.

I really don’t know how Bud Selig got this job.

Sure you do.
The other owners figured he could make a lot of money for them. And they were right.
But about protecting the game and acting in its best interests, he has been a miserable failure.

And he took it cause he could make a lot of money from them
$18 million a year for the Budster – that’s the going rate for protecting the owners and their (and Bud’s) best interests
