Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Anyone know where I can get some solid information about the Mayor of Rush Street?

So I am writing an article on Harry Caray and his famous nights out, where he went, with who, and what he drank. I have always thought that he was one of the coolest broadcasters because he was a huge fan himself, and he worked for the fans. I need some info about Caray's social life, I have heard stories about how he would work out a contract at a bar with the GM with a handshake. Or that he got fired from his gig with the A's while he was at a saloon.

I live in NYC, so I can't just go to the library and pick up a book. Can anyone here point me in the right direction, such as some news articles or maybe a good book to recommend?

For one of the best accounts of Harry anywhere....

I recommend the book “Where’s Harry?”, written by BCB’s most popular broadcaster, Steve Stone. This is book is as close to a tell all about Harry as you will ever get, and is one of the most entertaining baseball books ever written. If you’re looking for an account of what Harry was really like both in and out of the broadcast booth, you need to get this book and read the whole thing. You’ll love it.

Agreed.

I’m not much of a reader — at all. But I absolutely loved this book. In fact, I just picked up it again for a 2nd read a couple months ago.

Every Cubs fan should read this book.

Yes

I have this book too. Been a while since I read it but it was a good read. Also, I have Holy Cow which is an autobiography of Harry. It has a lot of good stories but not that much about Rush St.

Steve Stone with Barry Rozner.

Rozer was also a good friend of Harry’s, and I’m sure also had some great stories to tell.

I knew it!

Judging by Stone’s tweets, his choice to communicate via television and radio was a good one.

Thanks for all the info!

I will definitely check these books out. As for Harry Caray’s, I think I went as a kid so I will make it a point, next time I’m in Chicago, and I wanna check out the Tavern!

So I hope to get the article in this by the winter meetings…
