Yankees suspend singer for anti-Semitic remark
I hope maybe the Yankees might just drop the whole annoying "God Bless America" 7th inning rendition. After 9/11 Ok but their endless use of it is sort of like we are the only real patriots and on a more practical note, it really slows down games.

Maybe they can get Ozzy Osbourne to do it
Then they find out he can’t because he’d screw it up like he did “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” I also remember Mike Reno forgetting the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner about eight years ago at a NASCAR Nationwide Series (then Busch Series) race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. They could have gotten Ian Gillan to do it because he was in the area at the time.
But I digress. The Yankees should drop the whole “God Bless America” thing.

I was at the Ozzie Obourne game with my mother
She is not real knowledgeable on pop/rock culture and she asked me if it was Donnie OSMOND !

I was at the race I mentioned
That’s one reason I remember that Ian Gillan was in town. Deep Purple played a show in Charlotte that night.

I would agree that the God Bless America
needs to be retired. Perhaps it could be sung on the anniversary of 9/11, but that’s it.

Completely OT but not worth fanshot
Anyone else watching this Yankee/Angels game?
Yes I am rooting for the rain.

Actually, Ronan Tynan singing GBA is really the only reason to watch a Yankees game.
I appreciate that the Yanks took some action after his slur, but he has apologized and the apology has been accepted. Hopefully he will be back next season.

Fine, but have him sing it before the game - not during the game
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
Or have him sing TAKE ME OUT instead.
He has a lovely voice but GBA just does not belong in the 7th inning of EVERY game.

not to mention the timing disruption to the visiting team
for those who haven’t seen it, it’s quite the production/spectacle. workers set up the microphone stand and practically roll out the red carpet for him. Of course everyone’s applauding. Meanwhile other team is not quite sure what to do. Stay in the dugout? Stand in their positions and do nothing? Go ahead with their warm-ups?
And for those who don’t think that’s an issue, then why don’t the Yankees have him sing GBA before the top of the 7th instead of in the middle?
Lou Brown: "My kinda team, Charlie, my kinda team..."
Players have been quoted about how it disrupts them
but of course it is always an anonymous quote lest they be attacked for being unpatriotic. Keep in mind the Yankees had to pay damages to a fan who was ejected for having the temerity to try to go the bathroom while GBA was being sung.

It should be part of the pre-game
on Memorial Day, Independence Day and September 11th.
Just win the next game...!
And if they keep adding off-days to the playoffs . . .
Thanksgiving and Christmas
