Growing up in Michigan, watching Soupy was the OTHER reason to love being home sick from school- the Cubs being the first, of course...

This post probably should have had "OT" in front of it....

It's a sad week.

We lost Vic Mizzy , writer of my favorite finger clicking TV theme song a couple days ago.

I have a look alike friend

who “older” people like to call him Soupy. The similarity is unreal. Too bad those under 40 probably never knew how funny this guy was.

This is only the beginning....Lou Pinella end of '07 season and Chicago Transit Authority (the band when they were really good).

Well...

… I didn’t either. If you want to know about older celebrities and whether they are still alive or not, there’s a website for that — Dead or Alive.

Interesting trivia (or then again, maybe not):

Soupy’s kid “Hunt” Sales was a rock & roll drummer, notably with the Zepplin-esque band “PARIS” in the mid-1970s. Their leader was Bob Welch, former guitarist from Fleetwood Mac, and the bassist was Glen Cornick, formerly of Jethro Tull.

Check it out if you haven’t heard it. Interesting stuff.

Two albums (yes, before CDs and downloads, kids):

I had no idea "Soupy Sales" was a person.

I thought this post was about the commerce of the liquid food soup.

I thought Soupy was great

I admit that when I saw his obit, I had the same thought that I didn’t think that he was still around. I always thought that his showbiz name was good, kind of goofy, just like his act.

So long, Soupy…

Yes

I remember the Soupy Sales show. When comedians didn’t have to drop the “F” bomb to be funny. And what a great show biz name!!

Soupy Sales dead?

What’s next, Charles Nelson Reilly succumbs? Or Rip Taylor chokes to death during a bizarre confetti throwing mishap? Or Foster Brooks dies of the hiccups?

Priceless that somebody posted on the passing of Soupy Sales.
