Problems already with new Yankee Stadium
If it does cost millions to fix I am sure they will pass it on to the City.

Thanks for sharing
Being in the NY area as well this is quite interesting.
Unfortunately (and no offense to anyone specifically on here), 90% of BCB could care less about anything baseball related outside of the Cubs.
Everyone should give this a read as its quite interesting. You guys have no idea how hard it is to be an out of state Cubs fan and only get to see your team at most 3x a year without enduring an extended roadtrip.

Actually, I don't think your statement is true.
I post (and so do others) many different links about baseball not Cub-related. They generate a lot of discussion and interest here. We may be Cubs fans, but I think most of us are baseball fans, too.

Agreed
You can only talk about trading Milton Bradley for so long.

in addition
many on BCC are out of state fans, who use it to keep up to date with everything Cubs and MLB in general. Most on here also post on other SBNation blogs in other teams blogs to discuss things.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one
Sorry Al

What is it you're disagreeing with?
That 90% of BCB doesn’t care about anything that’s non-Cub?
I think you’d find that to be untrue.

Well he did say 90% could care less
Meaning that 90% of us care somewhat

Hahaha
I think that may be one of my all time pet peeves. That, or the overuse of the redundant non-word “irregardless”.

It's how I feel
But at the same time I don’t want to get into a debate over it. Really not too important. I like talking about baseball in general so all discussions are awesome. So let’s just leave it at that.

90% of BCB ???
….For me, I mostly know only about everything Cubs, and the thing I love about this site is that it expands my knowledge about all things baseball…..even if it has a Cubs accent on it.

Well I think most BCB folks enjoy anti-Yankee stories.

Maybe they should check on Jimmy Hoffa too...
The ramps were built by a company accused of having links to the mob, and the concrete mix was designed and tested by a company under indictment on charges that it failed to perform some tests and falsified the results of others.
As long as they are going to wind up digging it all up…

What is more striking about this article
…is that a modern-day construction project couldn’t follow well-known ADA requirements, and had to go back in to rectify the problem.
If that isn’t stupidity…..

Sounds like they were cutting corners
And trying to shorten the ramps. That’s an easy one for almost anyone to catch, though. Shoddy concrete and paid-off inspectors requires a bit more digging.
I don’t think any of the concrete ramps at Turner Field (reconfigured for baseball after 1996) show any of the flaws in the picture accompanying the article. And those ramps haven’t even gone through a winter, yet.

This is obviously a ploy to sell more field-level seats at exorbitant prices
So the stadium doesn’t look half-empty from the CF camera.

Cracks already?
Wow… they just don’t build ’em like they used too.

Yup, in the good old days they knew all about building cracks

Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense.

Another bad story about Yankee Stadium
and a reminder of what happens when public officials value sports teams over the public good.
