I see no bids on that yet.

I just need $10,000

but I don’t think my unemployment would cover that and of course I need to learn to play golf, FAST.

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

I think he would have an easier time teaching me to throw a changeup.

If I could learn to throw a changeup from Maddux

I could probably at least get a league minimum bullpen job. Along with my killer spitball and “cutter” ( achieved with an emory board) I would have 3 pitches and one would be legal.

That looks like a Photoshopped picture of Maddux.

Couldn’t he wear a collared-shirt at least?

Clothes are not exactly a priority for him

However when I went to the New York baseball writers dinner in January and he was getting a special award, he was almost unrecognizable , full tux , slicked back hair etc. The lady next to me at the table said " He cleans up real nice" but I strongly suspect his wife was responsible. He actually had a quote once to the effect that one of the reasons you got married was to have someone make you go out and buy new socks. What a romantic guy.

Looks like...

… someone just slapped that “golf jersey” over a photo of him in a Padres uniform.

If so that was silly

It is not like you can’t find a photo of Maddux playing golf.

Alas can't see it

I actually have funny baseball card of Maddux, Jeff Pico and a few others posing for charity golf event for
Peoria. This was AFTER he was in the majors but the odd thing is Maddux said in an interview with Golf Digest that he did no start playing till he was 25 but the photo has him with ’porn " mustache which I only remember from 86-87. Oh just teensy weensy bit of an obsessive point but I take what I can get now that he is no longer playing. I am already trying to figure out what team will get his services next. I think he is done with the Padres ( whom he helped this Spring Training) and will probably go work for the Braves at least for a couple of weeks in Spring Training.

Maybe if you did go golfing with him...

… you could advise him not to be photographed wearing shorts.

I have mentioned before

I know of no public figure this side of grunge rocker who cares less about what he looks like. I find it part of his charm. He looks bad but he has no ego. I think it is a safe bet that very little of his millions is spend on clothes.
