And that $845 million...
… could have been more if Zell hadn’t dithered so long… the original estimated asking price was ~ $1 billion.

It is a small point but it really was $23 million
I know 20.5 is the official figure and I don’t know why. I owned one share , there were 10,000 shares over 90% owned by
Wrigley. When the deal was finalized my share of the just under 23 million sale was just about $2300. I used it later to finance a trip to Europe. Again I have no clue why there was a difference , I recall something about the initial price and final closing price but the only thing I have left if my stock certificate and a final letter from " Chicago National League Ball Club" as the company was called.
