Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Check out all MLB Championship rings going back to 1922. MOST of the rings given to the team that lost are shown when you click on each ring (1945 Cubs not shown) .

IMO, the 2004 Red Sox got the coolest ring -- There are a few bad ones too.

Also, there are links toward the bottom of the page that show cool pictures of MLB ballparks -- both past and present.

I voted on the worst ring poll

Can’t believe the Marlins is on that list. I thought it looked pretty cool.

p.s. Cubs 2010 WS ring hasn’t made it to the list yet!

I would sleep with Blou if it meant the Cubs would win a WS. by Doggie Stalker on Aug 22, 2009 4:11 PM EDT

I thought

‘57 Braves and ’70 Orioles were cool in that they incorporated their ballparks into the ring. Also agreed that the Marlins one wasn’t anywhere near the worst.

My vote for worst would be for all the ones that look like Jostens rejects from now defunct high schools (‘73 A’s).

Those Toronto rings...

… are mystifying. You can’t really even tell which team it is.

The World Series loser rings

Most of the ones I’ve looked at the WS loser rings look better than the WS winner ones.

One of the coolest displays at the Baseball Hall of Fame....

is a glass case displaying every world championship ring, and even before players got rings in the early part of the century, this display had things like world championship pocket watches, gold lapel buttons, things like that. Amazing to look at, and also amazing how elaborate the rings have gotten in the last 15 years or so. Up through the early 1990s, they were still really neat, but from a distance looked maybe slightly bigger than a college ring or something. Some of the more recent ones, you could pull a rotator cuff if you were wearing one of these rings. Probably a big reason that you rarely, if ever, see players wearing their championship rings anymore. They are more for display than anything.
