Dick Pole Fired by Reds
Dick Pole was let go by the Reds yesterday, against Dusty's wishes. Al posted earlier that Larry Rothschild should be back next season, but if he's not, would Pole be a possible replacement? He helped Maddux and Moyer when they were youngsters in the majors as the pitching coach under Don Zimmer. And the Reds staff improved this season. Any thoughts?

Do. Not. Want.
Their staff improved right up until their arms starting falling off. Thanks, but no thanks.

3rd Time the Charm?
Pole has already been with the Cubs twice, although he was bench coach the second time through Chicago.

Maybe they can bring Davey Johnson out of retirement to manage that staff.

Dick Pole, Rusty Kuntz, and Davey Johnson?
Sounds like actors in a few classic films I’ve seen.

BET DUSTY DID NOT TAKE
the news all that well. He will end up with a AAA club if none of the MLB clubs get him .

He got shafted.
Guess he’s not a working stiff anymore.
That’s all for now.

He's fallen on hard times.
I just hope he keeps his head up.

Wonder if they gave him a pink slip.
He’s logged a lot of games as a pitching coach.

I'm sure if he keeps plugging away
he’ll find an opening to fill eventually.

Don't like the words
dick, pole, and fire in the same sentence.
