Maybe whoever they hire...
…can figure out how to make links from fanshots titles open in a new window.

That's on the list of stuff we have asked for.

I know it's been asked for many times
and I’m pretty sure it’s relatively easy to do. That’s why I can’t figure out why they haven’t done it yet. I understand you need to weigh pros and cons whenever you contemplate a user experience change but for the life of me I can’t figure out any reason why having it open in the same window is a good thing for the SBN environment.
Yes, there are valid reasons for keeping it in the same window in most computing environments, but for some reason whatever SBN uses is very “hostile” to the back button. If you go somewhere in the same window, then try to come back, yes, you end up on the same page but much farther back in time than you were when you left. It totally throws off all your unread comments and affects navigation.
I’m guessing the high volume user activity has something to do with, so it may be impractical if not impossible to put you back exactly where you were. If so, all the more reason to have it open in a new window right from the get go.

I agree with you completely.
I’ve said the same things. Some or all of this is likely to be in the next SBN version. Stay tuned.

Go for it anyway
I manage software engineers. For these job descriptions, you always throw in everything but the kitchen sink for requirements. As a result, you seldom get someone who meets all of them.
This is just my own point-of-view, but I think that it is much more important to hire someone who is smart and ambitious than someone who has done nearly the same job before — some of my fellow managers would disagree (if left on their own, but I always win this argument around here). You don’t want to have to teach them all of the particulars, but you really want a generalist who can solve problems. So, go for it and find some way to show your enthusiasm for the job!

I just noticed that they are in D.C
I’ve been in a condo in Des Plaines for about a year. I’m not really in a position to sell. I’ll just keep an eye out for stuff like that in the future. I
