I wish they would have just let Dempster go out with his last start.

You had to have the feeling the Cubs were not going to beat davis.

So we lose 4-6 to the Pirates and D-Backs. Impressive…..

I think there is a high probability he (Riot) is gone next year

I notice that Jim and Lou never mention the defense when they talk about next year—which tells me they are going to make changes. They say they are happy with the pitching and can use an RBI bat, but make no comments on the defense as they don’t want a focus on where they see weaknesses.

Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but my guess is that Lou & Jim have finally figured it out that a great pitching staff is a waste without a good defense to help them out.

It could be worse

You could have mlb.com and have to listen to the same four commercials every five minutes

"Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar, rum. He will come. " Pedro Cerrano

My major problem would be that unless he really squared one up, it wouldn't leave the infield

And then be pulled backward – long ABs when everything is fouled back behind the plate (eventually)

Last day of Cubs ball for 2009 eh?

Seems like I missed the “excitement” for today , yesterday and etc…. :(
been traveling a bunch, and missed most of the last couple weeks, (thankfully??)

Like most years, I’m looking forward to 2010 spring training in Mesa (I guess?), so, once again, I’m waiting “for next year” hopefully.

Pat & Ron seem heavy into next year already as well.
