Shocking
This year I thought he earned it.
Perhaps his second half numbers were down again?
The article mentioned:
“However, he struggled in the final weeks of the season, going 1-5 with a 6.25 in his last eight starts.”
Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?

His 15 wins don't look all that great compared to 13 losses
Not for a team that finished 22 games over .500. He had a good year, a great start, but it didn’t last and I’m not surprised he’s not starting again.
Still, what does that leave the Rockies with in terms of starting pitchers?

Apparently they're going with Jose Contreras if they get to game 4
Not a great year for him, but he has been strong down the stretch. Looks like they’re trying to ride the hot hand.
He's still Marquis and can't be trusted.
Jimenez is far, far better, and while Cook and Hammel aren’t studs, they’re both better starters than Marquis. They’re making the right move.
Metal sharpens metal.
And this guy right here understands and knows what leadership is all about: The coach, the hall of famer......... Dick Butka! George Ryan
Unbelievable!!!
Every team in every season since Marquis got into the big leagues has made the post-season. The trouble is, Marquis has never been able to put together a complete season of pitching good baseball. His MO is usually pitching like a Cy Young candidate in the first half, only to suck down the stretch. This has made him overlooked time and time again when the playoff rosters are set. He has nobody to blame but himself.
