New Video Of Babe Ruth Found
This NY Times link tells about some home video of Ruth that was found in the home of a man in New Hampshire and shows some other baseball video and the MLB archivists who keep it. The voice on the call of Willie Mays' catch in the 1954 World Series, incidentally, is Jack Brickhouse.

Very cool!
Thanks for posting that.
I knew a guy from Cedar Rapids, Iowa about twenty years ago who was very good friends with Lew Fonseca, the old Cubs hitting coach. After Fonseca died in 1989, my acquaintance helped go through his personal effects and found boxes of film Fonseca had shot over the years. Apparently there was footage of quite a few baseball greats, much of it taken during practices. It sounded like an absolute historical treasure trove, and I would have loved to have seen it but shortly afterward my job situation changed and I lost touch with the guy who had it. I really wish I knew what he did with it and hope he donated it to a museum of baseball historical society.

Being that you mentioned Jack Brickhouse...
I have a great story to tell during the end of his Cubs broadcast career.
Me, and a couple of buddies traveled to St. Louis for a weekend series with the Cubs and Cardinals in 1980. After the Friday night game, which the Cubs lost, we decided to hang out at the hotel where the players were staying at. There was not much player movement, so we went into the bar.
After a short time, the WGN television and radio teams entered the bar. My buddy Joe wasted no time to latch on to Brickhouse. We spent the next three hours bullshitting with Jack Brickhouse about baseball. He could tell you stories that happened thirty years prior like they happened yesterday. At some point, Brickhouse asked what we thought would make the Cubs better.I suggested a trade of Sutter and DeJesus to Milwaukee for Moliter and Yount. At that point, somebody in the crowd said it was rediculous and he and I started fighting. Brickhouse quickly broke up the fight.
At the end of the evening, Brickhouse handed me a 10 dollar bill and said to get whatever I wanted to drink, and bring him back a scotch. I went to the bar and they said they were closed. I went back and told Brickhouse, and he told me how he will open up the bar. When he went to order, he found out that the great Jack Brickhouse has no clout with the people of St. Louis.

Working at the MLB Productions archives
must be a dream job. I would want to drop everything and move right now if I could work there. Good stuff.

That's really interesting.
Particularly the part about a dirigible being visible, which I had not noticed the first time, but could clearly see on looking again.
