Why are you so against this?
I don’t see him as a bad option. Since he’s been a regular player his numbers have gotten much better. Yes, those are inflated by the Texas ballpark. But the thing is, having been in the AL West, a lot of his road games have been in some pretty spacious parks as well.
Depending on the cost, I might be interested.
Another multi-year deal to a 30 something player makes no sense
I’ll take Cameron on a reasonable one-year contract.
People who don’t care don’t respond, and people who do care do respond. Does that make sense Bronco fans trying to validate the trade?
Maybe we should find out...
…exactly what kind of contract is on the table before we decide what makes sense.

It seems pretty clear
that Byrd, after having a career year, will want at least 2 years and paid fairly well.
Byrd, 32, is seeking a multi-year contract after batting .283 for the Rangers last season with a career-high 20 homers and 89 RBIs.

Two years may not be so bad.
Maybe Brett Jackson will be ready by then.

The Cubs have been connected to Byrd in the past.
The speculation makes sense.
It would be a disappointment if this is the route we went.
Is he traded yet?
I'd rather have Byrd then Cameron
Every player should be accorded the privilege of at least one season with the Chicago Cubs. That's baseball as it should be played - in God's own sunshine. And that's really living."
Per Paul Sullivan:
Hendry plans to target Rangers center fielder Marlon Byrd after the exclusive 15-day window ends for re-signing your own free agents. The Cubs looked at acquiring Byrd two years ago, and he’s a favorite of new hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo.

Another Jim Hendry favorite
Zeroed in on. As far as I’m concerned that ends the search for a centerfielder.
Just say no to players named Aaron on the Cubs.
well that's the question
is Hendry zeroing in on his guy this offseason or will he be content to sit back and see what shows up for cheaper?
As for why not Byrd – well, his UZR wasn’t good last season and his OBP dropping, too has me concerned. Why did that happen? Is it connected to Byrd playing more than he had in previous years or are his skills eroding across the board?
Is he traded yet?
Yeah, it appears he's had quite the up and down career.
