Selig really wants to beat out Gary Bettman for the worst commissioner in sports award.

Bud Selig

is the biggest douchenozzle assclown ever to be connected with baseball.

Fuck Selig. Fuck baseball. Fuck the Yankees. Fuck everyone.

Worf is mad.

Don't hold back, Worf.

Tell us how you really feel.

How I feel

is that baseball is a backwards sport, operating with horse-and-buggy rules in the Space Age.

I feel that the second the Cubs win, I’ll be done as a baseball fan. I swear to God, if they had won in 2003, I’d probably not watch half the games I do now.

Here’s a fun test.

Let’s assume you’re a Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan.

Let’s say, for argument’s sake, you had the choice of watching a July Cubs game, an October Bears game and a February Bulls game. In other words, all about equal times of their respective seasons.

Most people on this board would choose the Cubs first.

Now, broaden that out. Same times of year, but the choices are Rockies-Phillies; Eagles-Broncos or 76ers-Nuggets.

In other words, teams that have little to do with the Cubs, Bears or Bulls and their success. Relatively even matchups in cities you have no real attachment to.

Which are you watching?

I go for Eagles-Broncos every time.

I’m a Cubs fan. I’m not a baseball fan. Not any longer.

and therein lies the problem

Reminds me of a phrase from an Al Stewart song, Old Admirals

And sometimes think in all this world the saddest thing to be
Old admirals who feel the wind, and never put to sea

To be a Cubs fan without being a baseball fan… I feel for you, Worf.

Could it be that you need an older TV-Radio-Phonograph, with built-in curse removal

But to tell you the truth, at least for me, the quirkiness of the game, its rules and traditions is part of why I would almost always watch the Baseball game. I understand and support the calls to improve the officiating, but at the same time, I think the implementation in Baseball would be much more difficult than it was in football, where everything comes to a grinding halt every 15 or so seconds. In Baseball, calls made during the development of a play can have a direct and fundamental influence on how the play develops.

I couldn’t care less about Basketball, btw.

Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense.
