Riggleman to Return as Nats Manager
It looks like former Cubs manager will have the interim tag removed and remain at the helm of the Washington Nationals. Congrats to Riggs who, IMO, did a solid job as Cubs manager.

That's Why
the Nats continue to be a pathetic franchise. Riggleman got the “dead cat” bounce after the firing of Manny Acta. If the Nationals really want to compete, they need to hire a real GM and a real manager… not the guys who happened to be there at the time. If this were the Dodgers or the Braves or the Red Sox, sure, hire someone in the organization. But not the Nats.
I agree with you on Riggleman
but I like the permanent hiring of Mike Rizzo as GM. The first thing he did as interim GM was get a real CF’er in Nyjer Morgan and rid the Nats of one of their head cases in Milledge. Morgan was a big improvement and brought a lot of excitement until he got hurt. Morgan was part of the reason for the “dead cat” bounce.
Jim Bowden was a disaster as GM, I Think Rizzo will be better.
Dead cat bounce or not has no relevance to his abilities
Say what you want about Riggleman, but no one was more prepared than he was.

What really hurts the Nationals...
are the owners, the Lerner Family. They tend to keep a pretty tight grip on the purse strings, which makes it difficult at times for the team to make progress.
Mike RIzzo is definately a better GM than Bowden. It remains to be seen how Riggleman will do as manager. And having Nyger Morgan back in the line-up next season will certainly be a huge plus for the team.

I remember Nyger Morgan...
as being responsible for Sam Fuld’s very first “face plant” into the ivy. What a great play it was getting a DP for his efforts.
