Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Does this make it more or less likely that the Cubs could get the ASG in 2014? MLB would have to alter its NL/AL rotation for one year to do that.

Despite the 100 years thing

I’m glad to see Fenway didn’t get another one so soon. That would have been 2 in 13 years for them. For the Cubs, 2014 would be 2 in 24 – a little more understandable.

Other than breaking the NL/AL rotation, having the game at Wrigley would mean shunning some of the newer parks. Given the state of the economy and that no new parks are being built after the Marlins, I think they’ll all get their chance to host within the next 5-7 years.

24 years is definitely too long

there are 30 teams and Wrigley is certainly one of the best stadiums in the league. It’s a shame it’s taken this long for another one

I dunno about too long

Some would argue every team should get a shot before one team gets it again. Not sure about that either – a new stadium, anniversary, or charming ballpark is a reason to have one. 24 years sounds about right.

Wah-hoo!

This is gonna be great. “The New K” is a gorgeous stadium. Visit it if you’re in the area.

I agree

The redone K is a great place to take in a ball game. The high def board is fantastic—and I’m not one for big flashy electronics at ball games. The outfield viewing decks are a nice touch too.

+1

The new K is the prettiest ballpark in Missouri. I like it better than the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis. I like Hammons Field in Springfield more than the new Busch. You’ve got ample parking around the new K. I love the fountains in the outfield. If you are from a not so big city, Kansas City won’t intimidate you with its size. Check out the Royals Hall of Fame.
