THANKS !!!
In addition to being very smart , he is all very politic. Notice how careful he is when discussing the attitude of the Cubs orginization to certain things like OBP. He is the anti- Nuke Laloosh.

Thanks for posting this, rec'd.
Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?

Great stuff.
When Sam is done playing, I hope Ricketts keeps him in the Cubs organization.

Fantastic interview! Thank you for posting the link.
Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense.

Forwarded it to a friend who wrote back

I think you mean Billy Beane
Billy Bean was a ballplayer who is famous for coming out after he retired

Well he texted it so I did not correct it
Just cut and paste but I should have noticed. Sam’s wife might take exception to THAT comparison.

Ya' know, when I saw this headline, I thought to myself:
“Self: Why is British Petroleum interviewing Sam Fuld?”
Showing my age, I guess…
Now only 12,859 on the "Cubs Season Tickets Waiting List"...

Fuld
The more I think about potential offseason moves, the more open I am to just letting Fuld and Reed Johnson platoon in center, with the outside chance that Tyler Colvin contributes later in the season if he does well at AAA. Otherwise, trade Bradley for a right handed platoon mate to play with Fukudome in right and we are good to go.

Between this and daver pointing out Fuld's splits
I’ve become a Fuld convert – wanting to see him get a significant (but not full-time) role next year.
Inspector #23 certifies that the above post is sarcasm free, most certainly not what she said, and chock full of intangibles, although regressing to the intangible mean, as you'd expect.

Another note from a friend on this
My friend Tim who works at the HOF pointed out that Fuld is the all time hits leader in the college World Series followed by ex Cub Keith Moreland.

Wow. Definitely count me in to the Sam Fuld Fan Club.

My cup is better Fuld than empty.
The Cubs would be really stupid if they don’t hang on to him!

It may not be that easy
There is going to be outfield game of musical chairs and he may end up the odd man out. I think they should keep over Johnson but they probably don’t need both. He is too good now to be stashed in Iowa and I don’t think Hendry would do that too him so if he ends up without a place he will be traded.

Fuld? Seems plenty scrappy as it is - just ask chain-link fences everywhere.

Not to mention brick walls
Also I think any player 5’10 " or under is officially “scrappy”

Not any more...
according to the Baseball Reference Bullpen, Dustin Ackley (North Carolina) broke Fuld’s record this year. Fuld had 24 career CWS hits, Ackley ended up with 28.
btw – Ackley was the 2nd pick (Seattle) in last year’s draft behind some kid named Strasburg…
