Slightly OT re: Cards
I found this article by Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch more than a little amusing. In explaining the Cards lukewarm interest in Jason Bay largely due to "a greater reliance on defensive metrics" Strauss also mentions two possible trade targets: Adam Dunn and Josh Willingman.
Apparently their interest in defense only applies to free agents, not trades.

And who can they offer to trade?
Didn’t they get rid of their major prospects last year in trades?
Crikey.
Jason Bay’s career UZR in left field (7,563 innings) is -49.8. This past season, he cost the Red Sox 13 runs over 1279.1 innings. And, not surprisingly, RZR ranks him last among qualified starting AL left fielders (.870), though he did make three more out of zone plays than Johnny Damon. I never would’ve suspected a guy of Bay’s apparent athleticism was that bad defensively. Oh, and I agree – if the Cardinals wind up trading for Adam Dunn instead of Bay, it would be highly amusing.
