Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

OK, it's a Phil Rogers column, which automatically makes it suspect, but Phil writes: "While the Cubs publicly explore spring training options in Mesa, Ariz., and Naples, Fla., a third entity might get into the bidding. At least one Indian tribe in the Phoenix area reportedly is prepared to use casino money to top all offers." Could happen, I suppose, or the tribe could work with the city of Mesa to keep the Cubs in Arizona.

Haha well...

I won’t believe it until it is confirmed by Carrie Muskat!

I highly doubt we leave Mesa.

Yep

This is a whole big negotiating ploy to get the best possible deal out of Mesa.

Naples, Italy would be cool. It's only a 12 hour drive from Munich

I'm

thinking the offer from the Casino place has no chance, wouldnt think Bud would put up with the Casino idea or any property near a casino or any affiliation. Dont be suprised who’ll get the bid from the Ricketts family.

Um...

… the Diamondbacks and Rockies are moving to exactly such a place in 2011 — a complex near Scottsdale, affiliated with the Salt River Indian community. It’s going to be partially financed by… casino money.

So it’s entirely possible the Cubs could wind up doing the same.

i asked above and here is the answer

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

It would fit financially and be

in the area.

If true, the Cubs should explore. Some team will get a sweetheart deal out of this to act as a draw to the casino hotel/gaming floor.

Provided they get true year round facilities including rehab space, why not the Cubs?

can the Cubs train at a casino site

when MLB bans gambling?

When the chips are down,

MLB will have to put their cards on the table.

ok...

… what proof do you have that MLB is going to ban gambling? You really think that they are going to disallow major leaguers from playing the tables in Las Vegas?
