Made you look. The Jays claimed Jarrett Hoffpauir on waivers from the Cardinals.

That was a fiendish ploy, Al...

Hmmm....

Wonder why the Jays need a good hit, no field 2B…

Are they going to move Aaron Hill to SS or do they just need AAA roster filler?

It's a pretty solid pickup

I’m not sure Jarrett is a starting caliber player, but for nothing, the Blue Jays might’ve gotten some solid middle infield depth. For a team that’s likely to go under some retooling under Anthoupoulous, Hoffpauir could have a shot at making the big league roster.

Had I not done the same thing when I read the headline on MLBTR...

I would have been fooled. Nice try Al

Remember from ESPN...

In case you forgot, Jarrett and Micah are NOT related. REPEAT: Jarrett and Micah are NOT related.

BTW,

did you know that Jarrett and Micah are NOT related???

...Maybe it was Fox,

but at any rate, they’re NOT related.

I found that post.

Here it is.

Oddly enough, the Blue Jays were also involved. And note my comment to that post, I did NOT want him signed to a minor league deal.

Hah

The second I read that on mlbtraderumors.com I came here expecting someone to really think our Hoffpauir was traded and make a post!

Very funny Al!

Any resemblance? You decide.

Hoffpauirs

Jarrett’s from Mississippi, and Micah’s from Texas. I was shocked they were not related. How common a name is Hoffpauir?

I Can Root for Jarrett Again

Now, that Jarrett is out of the National League I can root for him again. I liked him as a Memphis Redbird, hated him as a St. Louis Cardinal, and can root for him again as a Blue Jay.

Ha, you didn't get me!

I saw this on the MLB Network scroll last night. And somehow I knew someone would try to pull a stunt like this.

Having said that, I’m still disappointed that Hendry didn’t find a way to TRADE MICAH HOFFPAUIR FOR ADAM LIND!!!!

In that split second I was fooled I was surprised how little I cared.

I would have thought I’d be at least a little upset to lose him, but I just shrugged.
