Thomas Diamond, Reclamation Project
The Cubs picked him up last September and recently outrighted him off the 40-man roster. He's hoping for a spring training invite and a chance to make the team. Interesting story, anyway.

he would make a nice suprise
he was one of the highly acclaimed DVD trio in Texas—Danks, Volquez, Diamond.
We’d take the other 2 at this point, so why not Diamond?

I gotta think
that Diamond will be around. I can’t see him making it out of spring, but with the organizational connection he has, this is probably a good place for him as he has an advocate. If he’s here, I’ll be curious if the Cubs start him or have him in the pen. If he shows some semblance of improvement on control, he could reach the bigs sooner out of the pen, as the stuff is reportedly still solid.

I like the fact
that he had TJ 14 months ago. He should really pop this spring.
I am concerned with the ankle. Legs are crucial, so if healthy I think he will be a pleasant surprise.
