I'd avoid
Only because he seems like the type of player the Cubs would overpay for.

And it would be boom outta here all season
Gopher Ball Express
Only he’d be more like the groundhog, out to the mound only to see the shadow of pitched ball float over the bleachers.

Woman beaters should be banished from the planet.

Yeah, no.
Why should the Cubs sign a below average pitcher who made 12M last year? Come on.

Nope
We have enough distractions without adding a douche bag who hits his wife with a closed fist.

Didn't realize being against spousal abuse
was having a halo.
Maybe in your family, that’s Saturday night. In mine, it’s a bad thing.

I wasn't the one asking IllinoisCubs to provide his wife to Myers to beat - that was all you.

Your reading comprehension is USUALLY better than that
are you drunk right now?

nope.
if you’re as dead set against wife-beating as I think you are, it just seems odd that you would make that sort of suggestion to someone else, even in jest/sarcasm/worfasm.

You can have my sarcasm
when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
You are really boring in this thread. Do something about that.

no harm in kicking the tires
myers has had success as a starter and has experience as a closer. he had good stuff before injuries started to take their toll and is entering his age 29 season. if he’s healthy, still on the market come january/february and can be had on the cheap he could fit nicely as a 5th starter or setup man.
obviously, i wouldn’t let my sister date him but that’s another issue.

No harm in kicking the tires!
That’s what Myers thinks too, only he calls his wife’s belly, “The Tires”

His FIP was even higher than his ERA
6.15 compared to 4.84. Unless you have some reason to believe he’s going to be a magically different pitcher next year (given his continually declining stats, I don’t), I wouldn’t want him near our 5th starter position . . . and even a spot in the bullpen scares me. I’d much rather give a chance to a cost-controlled young guy to see if we have another Randy Wells or Angel Guzman.

Aside from his checkered domestic past
He’s essentially kinda like another Glendon Rusch and he’s fading. Nope.

Myers is better than Rusch.
I still don’t want him.
