Ron Santo in the Radio Booth for 3 more years
This is good to hear, because I think he is a great representative of the Chicago Cubs and the fans. Though he isn't the best color analyst, he is great to listen to and with him working with Pat, its a very enjoyable 3 hours to listen to.

This makes me happy - I llok forward to hearing him for many more years...
Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense.

Great news and love this quote:
“Doing the Cubs games is like therapy for me. It’s relaxing.”
If he’s relaxed, what’s he like when he’s tense or excited?

Good, but I worry about Ronnie.
With all the medical things that have happened to him and his limited mobility, road trips have to take their toll. I listen to more games than I probably watch and he and Pat Hughes are a great team.
This is only the beginning....Lou Pinella end of '07 season and Chicago Transit Authority (the band when they were really good).
Ron Santo
Glad to have him for at least 3 more yrs, a class act, and a Hall of Famer! Stay healthy Ron

I heard Pat on WGN this morning.
Boy did hearing his voice ever make me miss baseball.

Fantastic
He’ll live to see them win it yet.

Pray for Pat Hughes
Hughes has had to do double-duty in the booth for years. And now he gets to look forward to 3 more years of that. Not sure Ronny is going to last another 3 years.
I like Ron, but feel sorry for Hughes.

I'm sure Pat would be the first to say he wouldn't have it any other way
and actually mean it

I agree.
I think part of the reason those two work so well together is their mutual respect and admiration for each other.

Pat Hughes does the work of play-by-play guy and color analyst
Hughes should earn the humanatarian of the century award for his gracious willingness to carry Santo. Lets be honest here folks. Hughes does 98% of the work and Ron once in awhile interjects a scream of joy or a groan….that is on those days when he can remember which day of the week it is and what stadium the Cubs are playing in.

Ah jeeze......
Glad to hear he’ll be back.
OK I don't know shit about basketball.

R - What happened, Pat?
P – Uh, you got your contract extended for another 3 years, Ron.
R – Oh, wonderful.

I am not sure......
how I feel about this.
As much as I like Ronnie I would like a real radio team. When I listen to other team’s broadcasts I am reminded what it could be like.
When we win it would be nice if Ronnie is in the booth. I don’t want him to become a joke.
