I read this. Pretty interesting. Worked for Dempster.
Good to hear a former Lugnut is back playing ball and doing well…
Now only 12,859 on the "Cubs Season Tickets Waiting List"...
OMGZ BRING HIM BACK
I like Choi. Mostly because he brought us D Lee. Glad to hear he’s doing well. Hope he stays in Korea

Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?

I remember meeting some of his friends
While living in New Orleans, I would attend the Iowa Cubs game when they visited. One time, I met several Korean students from Florida who said they had become friends with Choi when he played for Daytona. He had invited them to hang out when he came to New Orleans, which was a close to Florida as he would get that year. He also signed a ball for my son once, and just seemed like a happy, outgoing guy.
It sounds like the “near-death” experience on the mountain helped him regain some perspective and not be so stressed out by the game. Maybe recovering from a concussion, trying to fill Derrek Lee’s shoes in Florida, and other challenges in the majors got to him psychologically. I perceive he’s saying in the article that the mental approach is a bigger impact than the weight loss from mountain climbing.
