Well, geez.

That’s a really nice video for promoting tourism — but why would that sell the Cubs? I’m kind of wishing they had done that differently.

Well, I'm sure that wasn't their entire presentation

And they probably wanted to convey that the area is comopolitan. The execs will be spending time outside the ballpark.

Of course that wasn't it

The video was all part of a presentation the city gave to the Cubs. It included remarks from Sen McCain as well as the governor, legislative and city leadership, and business leaders.

Yeah, that was a little weird.

Definitely put me in the mood to head down to AZ, but what about that video would really sell the Cubs on staying in Mesa. Kinda strange.

As a Floridian

This less than spectacular video makes me very happy.

I believe mgmt doesn’t mind moving the team in spite of the fans’ wishes to keep it in AZ just bc that’s where they’ve been for so long, as some have noted.

But there’s too much logistically in Mesa’s favor, as well as the willingness to offer several locations outside of downtown, that lead me to believe the total package that Mesa has will be unmatchable here in FL
