But my wife tells me that I got a Christmas card from the Ricketts. Did it come via the mail or UPS or some other service?

Do you fly in from Hawaii ? I will be spending $200 . Got a airfare from NYC for $115 and ticket is $65. I make it a point never to eat at the hotel and I commute from Mom’s in Lincoln Park. I actually have a room reserved at the Blackstone which is a block away $100 a night but only using it if my friend decides to share it. Hilton is way overpiced but there are plenty of other places to say for half the price.

if that’s the caliber of players that are going to be there it does seem llke a waste. My impression (without having been to one in the last four years) is that it gotten too big for its own good. However, I do like the thought of Hendry getting peppered by fans with questions about his moves over the last year.

but general service is pretty good. Let’s face it when you have a waiting list of 100,000 not a big incentive to offer freebies.

… when you have 100,000+ people on the waiting list, I suppose you can say, “There’s plenty more where that came from.” That’s the wrong attitude to have. The Cubs do need to improve relations with season ticket holders, and as one of them, I’m right at the front of the line.

Other teams in town, as you note, treat their STH better. The Cubs need to learn from that.

……….the other major franchises in Chicago. Frankly, they are light years behind, but as mentioned elsewhere, a waiting list of +100K does little to motivate hand outs.

I got my chotsky yesterday. No complaints. Free is free, but we had better get the annual calendar too!!!!

and I’ve gotten nothing much from them over the years but an invoice. Maybe a window sticker every couple of years. They do give us a media guide every year, though now it’s a CD-ROM.

Not complaining though, the stories I’ve heard from true long-time STH about the shaft they got relocating seats in the move from Wrigley to SF or old SF to new SF (or both) makes my 25 years seem insignificant.

As for MLB, we split Giants tix out here for a couple of years; the way we were treated in terms of perks, freebies and communication blew away anything the Cubs do for STH.

Now, if they’ll only improve the on field product, you’ll have an easier time selling all of them you can’t use.

That’s a well-reasoned and written post and actually praised the White Sox, and as you say, seemed well-received.

You’ve repeatedly claimed to have run afoul at South Side Sox for merely posting about history. When confronted by evidence that directly proves your assertion to be BS, you claim that it’s selective. Well it was your first post there and you see how your post was received, “Are you a self loathing douche. Nothing better to do than post anti-Sox rhetoric…”

In 2005, you were not merely writing about Sox history, and you know it. You were there to agitate Sox fans. You were there mocking and taunting the Sox fans. Don’t be coy.

Even this later supposedly (selectively picked?) “well-reasoned and written post” contained more of the usual “anti-Sox rhetoric.”

Funny too that you posted the usual dribble about Sox fans being obsessed about the Cubbies whilst you, a Cubbie fan, were on posting on a Sox discussion group.
