ESPN Chicago made their list of top Cub players this decade. How they ranked Ryan Dempster over Sammy Sosa is a mystery to me, but nevertheless, check it out and debate.

Shockingly enough

I completely agree with #1.

I agree-how is Dempster ahead of Sosa?

1-4, I agree with.

I also say Lilly over Prior.

No list would be complete without Neifi though…..

Dempster, Barrett

both over Prior IMHO

baseball is a game of outs......pop out, ground out, line out, pitch out, strike out, fly out, and Fox and Bud's favorite black out

Barrett?

I may watch baseball for 50 more years, but I doubt I’ll ever see a catcher with a glove that bad hold onto a job for three seasons.

And they do have Dempster over Prior. He’s at #5.

Ryan Theriot? Really?

For cryin’ out loud, Alex Gonzalez was more of a shortstop than Theriot will ever dream of being. Unfathomable.

If Theriot was playing SS in 2003

We’d probably be talking about the World Series between Yankees and Cubs.

depends

would theriot double clutch the grounder?

If Theriot was shortstop in 2003

they might have missed the playoffs altogether. Gonzalez had several last AB game-winning hits that year. In two years with the Cubs, he had nine last-AB game-winners, including 5 home runs.

A USA Today piece even called him “a force to be reckoned with” in the NLCS after he slugged two homers in Game 2. That doesn’t sound like Theriot, particularly the NLCS bit.

It's an opinion piece

To each is their own and some get to make their opinions more publicized than others I guess.
